Fa uns minuts, al Narodno Pozorište (el Teatre Nacional de Sarajevo) , Pasqual Maragall ha rebut de mans de l'alcaldesa de Sarajevo, Semiha Borovac, el titol de Ciutada d'Honor de la capital bosniana (perdoneu el teclat serbocroat sense accents!). Es un reconeixement a 16 anys d'amistat i cooperacio i suposa la constatacio del poder de la diplomacia ciutadana. "El 1992, Barcelona i Sarajevo van esdevenir germanes, Barcelona en la felicitat i Sarajevo en la tragedia. Quan vam saber que Sarajevo estava sent bombardejada vam saber que haviem de ser a prop vostre (...) Hem apres molt de vosaltres: Sarajevo es un exemple de coratge. Hem apres que la diferencia pot ser quelcom que ens uneix. Volem una Europa que aprengui llicons de Sarajevo", ha dit Maragall als seus ja conciutadans bosnians. Totes dues son ciutats olimpiques i comparteixen el trist "honor" de d'haver estat bombardejades indiscriminadament. El de Sarajevo, va ser l'atac que va presagiar la primera Guerra Mundial, i el de Barcelona el primer testimoni de la bogeria feixista de la Segona. Sarajevo va tancar el cercle de violencia amb un nou genocidi i intent de culturicidi. Barcelona s'ha conjurat per no seguir les passes de la seva germana... Felicitats al Gospodin maragall per la distinció que ha rebut a Sarajevo, crec que ben merescuda (sovint un ha de sortir fora perquè li reconeguin els mèrits...). Diuen que, molt sovint, els qui arriben després fan bons als anteriors... potser és això o potser només és una qüestió subjectiva d'enyorament, però a mi em sembla que aquella Barcelona d'en Maragall era un punt més humana, més il•lusionada i més compromesa.
Aquell "Districte 11, Sarajevo" va ser molt més que un programa de cooperació entre ciutats, va esdevenir un punt d'inflexió i de complicitat entre moltes persones de molts diverses ideologies i amb projectes distints.
Moltes felicitats alcalde Maragall, moltes felicitats també a tots els qui us hi vareu implicar molt més enllà del que us demanava la maquinària política i administrativa de torn.
Serem capaços de despertar de nou un bri d'il•lusió en aquesta maquinària???!!!
